Design Hotels™ Design Hotels Alliance Brand: Basic Introduction
Design Hotels™ was founded in 1993 in California, USA. It was founded by Claus Sendlinger and headquartered in Berlin, Germany, with branches in London, New York, Los Angeles, Singapore and other cities. Design Hotels™ had only 10 hotel members at the beginning of its establishment, and currently has 314 hotel members, providing a total of more than 22,000 rooms, covering 57 cities in 196 countries, and more than 400 hotels submit membership applications each year, with an average approval rate of only 5%.
Design Hotels™ screens independent hotel operators with original spirits, appealing that each member is a hotel with local cultural heritage, cutting-edge architecture and unique design, and provides members with various B2B customized services, including: global launch events, sales consulting , Revenue management, marketing strategy, public relations and brand promotion and other services. It also provides a distribution channel management platform to assist members in accessing potential sources of tenants around the world.
The current CEO of Design Hotels™ is Peter Cole, who took office in December 2018. He used to be the treasurer of the Americas Marriott Hotel and the Ritz-Carlton Hotel. His last job was to lead the business integration department of the Marriott Hotel Group, leading the Marriott Hotel Group and Starwood. The merger of hotel groups, the current membership system and point system of Design Hotels™, is included in the Marriott Bonvoy™ membership system of Marriott Hotels Group.

Design Hotels™ takes the call of boutique design hotels. Like the Michelin guide in the hotel industry, Design Hotels™ Book is published every year, describing the hotel management stories and design concepts of its members. Through a large number of photos and stories, it introduces hotel operators, The story of the three roles of designer and architect. When the alliance's official website introduces each design hotel, it will also list a special section to introduce each hotel's three original concepts of architecture, design, and operation.
Under Design Hotels™’s strict membership evaluation system, the average annual membership approval rate is only 5%. Currently, there are only 3 hotels in Taiwan listed under the design hotel alliance, and the Quantum Hotel and the Proverbs Hotel are located in Taipei City. Huatai Ruiyuan Kenting Hotel is located in Kenting, Pingtung.Humble House Elli Hotel was originally the only member in Taiwan, and has now withdrawn from Design Hotels™.

Design Hotels™ Design Hotel Alliance Brand: Membership Mechanism
Large-scale global hotel chains have established an economic-scale market dominance through membership systems and marketing and reservation systems. Individual hotels that operate independently around the world can only obtain members through various hotel alliances and online reservation (OTA) websites.
