Mont Nom Sod: Bangkok’s half-century popular copper plate delicacy with toast and fresh milk

This Mont Nom Sod branch is located on the 2nd floor of MBK Canter, Bangkok. Although I came to shoot in the afternoon on weekdays, I didn't expect the business to be good. In order to avoid the crowds, I went to the mall and went for a meal. For those of us who do not like to eat sweets, Mont Nom Sod's toast can satisfy all kinds of tastes and sweetness, and the price is very close to the people, but we can understand why the old store has long-term support and the popularity is enduring!

How to get there: How to get to Mont Nom Sod?

Mont Nom Sod has a total of four branches, which are located on Khao San Road in Bangkok, on the east bank of Chao Phraya River, on the 2nd floor of MBK Center and Chiang Mai. For novice readers, the most convenient transportation is MBK Center. Take the Bangkok Skytrain BTS After arriving at Siam Station, walk on the sky bridge all the way to arrive. (The information of the other three branches will be compiled at the end of the article)

▲ MBK Center is a huge shopping mall. The shop is located at the corner of the 2nd floor.

Mont Nom Sod brief introduction and dining sharing

The shop originated from a small stall in 1964. The combination of toast, fresh milk, black tea, etc. has become a popular signature. The first shop (also the head office) was established on Khao San Road, Bangkok, and then expanded to other areas. When the manager of MBK Center took us to visit, he said that this shop has been established for a long time. He would come here to eat and eat with his classmates during the end of high school. It is also a good place for Bangkok people to spend their spare time.

Looking up at the menu, there are 9 flavors of toast, namely:
‧ One 20 baht: Sugar (honey), Condensed Milk (condensed milk)
‧ 25 baht: Coconut Custard (coconut milk), Orange Marmalade (orange jam), Corn Soup (corn soup!?), Pandanus Leaf (pandan leaf/pandan leaf), Chocolate (chocolate), Strawberry Jam (strawberry) Jam), Taro Custard (Taro)

The most popular flavours they recommend are honey, condensed milk and pandan leaves. They pair well with their signature drink, fresh milk, so Wendy and I ordered one each. After that, we also drank coffee and strawberry milk for the second visit. A small portion of desserts is inexpensive and delicious. It's not bad to come here for a little rest and snack when you are tired from shopping in the mall!
