Bangkok is a very fascinating city, and it is also convenient for free travel. The only problem is when you leave the airport and go to the city. For example, when you go to the taxi on the first floor, in addition to asking the driver for the price, even if he honestly takes the meter. When calculating the price, I would also worry about being detoured (when Wendy and I came to Bangkok this year, they were detoured and ran the 450 yuan THB fare), so when the news revealed this "Bangkok Airport MRT officially opened, 15 minutes to the city District!", I am so happy! This way, you don’t have to drag your luggage and shout prices with the driver, and taking the MRT is both comfortable and convenient!

Bangkok’s Airport MRT started construction in July 2005, and finally started trial operation in June 7, and provided free trial rides for several periods. After the official operation began in August, it is estimated that the "Airport Express" will be available every day. It provides more than 2010 passengers with a daily turnover of 6 million baht.

In addition, it is expected that the "city baggage check-in service" will be launched at the end of the year, which is very useful for passengers taking evening flights. We can check-in for checked baggage at Makkasan station early in the morning, and we can also play around in Bangkok on the same day without delay. I run around with my large luggage, and then go to the airport to check in in the evening. This convenient service makes me like Bangkok more and more.

The Suvarnabhumi Airport Link (SARL) is divided intoCity Line,Red Line Express (Express),Yellow Line Express (Express).

  • SA City Line: The fare range is between 15-45 baht. Starting from the airport station (Suvarnabhumi), there are a total of 6 stops including Lardkrabang, Baan Tubchang, Hua Maak, Ramkhanhaeng, Makkasan, Rajaprarop, and Phaya Thai, and the journey takes about 30 minutes.
  • Red Express Line (Makkasan Express Line): The round-trip fare is 150 baht and the one-way fare is 90 baht. It takes about 15 minutes from the airport station to Makkasan station.
  • Yellow Express Line (Phaya Thai Express Line): The round-trip fare is 150 baht and the one-way fare is 90 baht. It takes about 17 minutes from the airport station to Phaya Thai station.

This time we took the City Line, which stops at every station. The boarding place is at B1 of the airport. The arrival hall of the airport is clearly marked.

When you reach B1, there will be a big slope on the right hand side in the middle. After you go down, you can ask the service staff about the ticket office, because when I went this time, the automatic ticket vending machine had not started operation, so the ticket sales were manual, but the speed was quite fast . (Small reminder: There is a MRT map in front of the ticket office, you can take a copy, which is very useful for friends who are traveling freely for the first time!)

The driving route of the City Line is the same as that of the Express (but the starting station in the city is different). It stops at 8 stops along the way. It is also a tool for Bangkok citizens to commute, so there are quite a lot of people. I suggest Walk a short distance, and there is a better place to sit in the front carriage. The journey time for each train from the airport to the city is about 30 minutes. The current promotional price of the ticket is all 15 THB. After that, the official fare in January 2011 will be changed to 1-15 baht, but compared to taxis The capital is still very cheap.

Also add the transfer information on the City Line:
1. Among the 8 stops on the City Line, Makkasan Station is connected to the Petchaburi Station of the MRT.
2. The terminal station is Phaya Thai Station, which is directly connected to the BTS of Bangkok Skytrain, and the connection point is Phaya Thai Station on the Sukhumvit Line.

In conclusion, the experience of this ride is after exiting the Phaya Thai station, we went directly to the exit on the first floor and took a taxi to the hotel. In fact, dragging our luggage to transfer to other MRT lines was too exhausting, plus it happened to be the first hotel where we stayed at VIE HOTEL BANGKOK is close to Ratchthewi station of Sukhumvit Line, so MRT + taxi fare = 110THB, which saves some transportation costs.

Many passengers have already started to transfer to the MRT, and I think the business of the taxi drivers on the first floor should also be affected to some extent.
