The summer season is about to enter, I wonder if you plan to refer to the previously introduced "Furano and Biei self-driving tour itinerary guide"I am eager to try a self-driving trip in Hokkaido. If you have travel companions who can take turns driving, you can rent a car directly at the airport to start, and if you only plan to rent a car in Biei.If you are driving in Furano, it is recommended to arrange for the second half of the itinerary to start from Sapporo, rely on JR Hokkaido Railway, transfer to Furano and then rent a car to start. For car rental steps, please refer to "How to use car rental services in Japan"Article.
Whether you are departing from New Chitose Airport or Sapporo to Furano, taking JR Hokkaido Railway is almost the only option. It is highly recommended to use it directly.Transfer to NAVITIME》The APP can check the train schedule and transfer mode. In fact, there is no need to bother to study too many modes of transportation. However, if you want to take a seasonally limited and unique sightseeing train, it is recommended to refer to the official website of JR Hokkaido to see which trains with characteristics and in line with your itinerary can be boarded.

When Wendy and Anya went to Hokkaido, the itinerary was arranged for a day trip in Sapporo, and then went to Furano by renting a car. At that time, they had purchased the Hokkaido Railway Seven-Day Pass, and the itinerary was just right. Lavender trains can be used without transfers, time-saving and convenient, and the carriage has a great viewing experience. In addition, at the end of June and early July, when the tourists did not explode, the free-seat carriages free of charge were quite empty.
Next, let’s introduce this seasonal limited express train of lavender sightseeing!
▲ The biggest feature of the seats in the lavender free-seat compartment is the large-area viewing window with a good view.
▲ The Lavender Train provides free travel and designated seats. When you use the travel pass to ride the designated seats, you must pay an extra fee!
▲ The luggage storage space is quite wide, so large luggage is not a problem.
However, the luggage placement method in the picture above is a wrong demonstration, which will affect other people's luggage, please don't learn it!
▲ The field of vision from the front driver's compartment is also quite broad!
▲ The aisle of the reserved seat car is like a train box scene commonly seen in movies, and the view inside is quite good.
▲ Specially designed saloon! At that time, because of the scarcity of passengers, we stayed here for more time than in the free-seat car, and we felt more comfortable.
▲ The driver's seat at the tail of the train is at the tail of the free-seat car.
▲ Arrived at Furano Station! The journey takes about two hours. The point is that it is convenient and comfortable without changing trains.
▲ Lavender decoration at Furano Station.
▲ After leaving Furano Station, we went directly to the car rental company next door to rent a car, which was quite convenient.
▲ Google God, who is becoming more and more powerful, has provided detailed transfer inquiries, and you can also check it out.
Of course, still "Transfer to NAVITIME》APP is the best to use. People who like to travel in Japan are recommended to spend more time to familiarize themselves with the usage.
Lavender train is a resort-type limited express train, the official name is North Rainbow Express (183 series). If the itinerary cannot be used, you have to take the regular JR limited express train and take the Hakodate Main Line to Takigawa Station, then transfer Nemuro Main Line heads to Furano.
Because of Furano.Biei is a rural area. Although summer tourism is prosperous, the regular JR limited express train cannot be maintained. Therefore, most tourists have to rely on the Super Kamui Express limited express train and then transfer to Takigawa or Asahikawa. For the introduction of various trains, please refer to JR Introduction of Hokkaido’s official Chinese website.
