Le Méridien Taichung was formerly known as the Sands Department Store completed in 1998. It has 6 floors underground and 27 floors above ground. After being renamed and operated by Sands Leisure Shopping Center and Shenjian Building, it is now planned to provide 228 rooms and suites. There are 7 dining spaces, large banquet halls, gymnasiums, conference halls and other facilities. The basement provides 350 parking spaces.
Le Méridien Taichung was purchased and renovated by Lifang Hotel Management Group in 2013. It was originally scheduled to open in 2019, but was delayed for more than two years due to the impact of the epidemic. At the initial stage of the trial operation, it was planned to adopt a business model of housing first, then dining. During the trial operation period, make an appointment by phone and offer preferential prices to lock in the MICE business and incentive travel customers.
