After the Tokyo Skytree appeared, the Tokyo Tower, also used as a radio tower, slowly faded out of sight of tourists. I thought that the Tokyo Tower was modeled after the Eiffel Tower in Paris, but it was 324 meters higher than the 8.6-meter Eiffel Tower. It became a famous landmark when it was completed and opened in 1958. Although it has become a surpassed frontier, it still stands beside Shiba Park. This time I took the opportunity of living in Hamamatsucho to visit this charming and classic attraction.
How to get to Tokyo Tower?
In the Tokyo metropolitan area with dense railway lines, take the subway or JR to Akabashi Station (Oedo Line), Kamiyacho Station (Hibiya Line), Onarimon Station (Mita Line), Daimon Station (Daemon Station), Hamamatsucho Get off at any station of the station (hamamatsucho station) and walk for a distance of about 600-1,500 meters. If you want to travel less, it is recommended to choose Akabane Bridge Station, followed by Kamiyacho Station.
On the first day we arrived in Tokyo, we checked into the Airbnb near Hamamatsucho Station and walked directly to Shiba Park and Zojoji Temple. We wanted to go to Tokyo Tower in the evening. However, under heavy rain, we had to turn back and search for food. The next day, after finishing a day’s trip, take the subway directly to the Akabane Bridge Exit of Akabane Bridge Station, turn a turn and you will see the dazzling Tokyo Tower ahead!
▲ Go out of the Akabane Bridge Exit of Akabane Bridge Station and you will see Tokyo Tower, which is very easy to find.
▲ It’s better to take pictures while you’re a little farther away before you reach the Tokyo Tower.
▲ The location of Tokyo Tower is slightly higher, and you have to walk a short upward slope.
Introduction to Tokyo Tower and Observation Deck Ticket
From bottom to top, Tokyo Tower is divided into three blocks: FootTown Mall, Large Observatory (150m), and Special Observatory (250m).
The FootTown mall at the bottom has 5 floors, free admission, and the permanent ONE PIECE theme park on the 4-5 floors. Those who are particularly fascinated by One Piece comics can purchase additional tickets for admission. (One Piece Tower official website)
The observatory is divided into two floors. You can buy tickets at the ticket office on the first floor and then take the elevator up. The fare is 2 yen.If you want to go to the highest special observatory, you have to purchase an additional 1 yen ticket for the observatory, which costs 900 yen in total.
At that time, we bought the Grand Observatory ticket first, and planned to go up and have a look first. If we have time, we can purchase a special observatory ticket at the Grand Observatory. There is no need to purchase the Grand Observatory + Special Observatory ticket at the beginning.
Tokyo Tower Fright
When I was happily watching the night view and picking up souvenirs at the large observatory on the second floor, I was wondering whether to continue going up the special observatory. Suddenly waves of earthquakes struck, and I could see the Japanese. Calmness and order may also be used to it!
The entire Tokyo Tower is made of iron structure. It shook more severely during the earthquake, but there was no loud screaming and chaos at the scene. At this time, Anya wanted to yell but didn’t dare to yell, but she was really frightened. I swallowed it in my stomach, and after several consecutive waves of shaking, I didn’t dare and could not continue to go up. The elevator was also closed for inspection and it was too late, so everyone could only walk down the iron stairs. This is our unforgettable Tokyo. Visit the tower!
▲ The iron stairs that tourists don't usually walk, they have to go now!
▲ Anya, who is still in shock, is still taking pictures calmly.
▲ Actually, thinking about it, walking down is very easy. I saw many staff members who have to climb up along the way. It's really hard!
▲ Stabilize your mood while walking and shooting. In fact, the tower under the light is really beautiful!
▲ Although I ended up in the sky, I left a shadow in my heart. When I was riding the Ferris wheel in Odaiba the next day, I was actually quite scared!
Conclusion
Excluding the shocking soul of Tokyo Tower, although Tokyo Skytree has replaced Tokyo Tower as the first choice for tourists, the elegant temperament of Tokyo Tower, after years of precipitation, the height is no longer a place to show off, but it has become more. It is admirable. From the tourist's mind, the guava attraction has returned to the local people's leisure place. Now it seems not bad!
