The Chiang Mai International Sky Lantern Festival (Yeepeng Lanna International Festival) is held on the night of the full moon in December of the Thai lunar calendar, about the usual November. This celebration comes from the traditional custom of offering sacrifices to the jellyfish (river god). The sky lanterns come to pray for good weather, good health, and safety in the coming year.
In the hotel RarinJinda Wellness Spa Resort introduced earlier, the hotel owner converted the area near the river in front into a restaurant and provided meals.
