Traveling to Hokkaido at the beginning of summer is the most comfortable thing. At that time, the daytime temperature in Otaru was about 25 degrees, and the surface of the canal was calm and waveless like a mirror of water. Like us, we wandered around the streets of Otaru at will. Shooting is my favorite way of traveling.
◎ The clear sound of glassware passing through Kitaichi Glass Museum and Sakai Town evokes the terrible desire for all purchases!
Let’s first sort out the origin of Kitaichi Glass Museum. In the Meiji era, Otaru business giant Kimura Enkichi built a large warehouse to store his seafood products. It has been more than 120 years away and has been listed as a historical building in Otaru. In 1983, a glass craft chain store " Kitaichi Whistle bought this warehouse and converted the interior into a specialty store, so it became one of the attractions that tourists like to visit when they come to Otaru. The Kitaichi Glass Museum has Japanese, Western, and rural areas, and Kitaichi Hall where you can taste delicious food.
There are many shops on Sakaimachi Street selling all kinds of glass products, from glass art, glasses, vases, accessories and jewelry, glass frames, jewelry boxes, etc., to retro kerosene lamps, animal decorations, and dining utensils. It’s all good to shop and buy. If you live in a homestay, don’t miss the king crab and long-legged crab seafood sold on the street. Take it back to the accommodation area to cook yourself. It is definitely the highest enjoyment of life!
▲ Many shops in Otaru city display such small items, which are very suitable for taking back to Taiwan to send family and friends groups.
▲ Little zoo.
▲ A cup of delicious and fragrant ice cream at the request of Mr.!
▲ Crab biscuits are delicious and well received by friends and relatives!
▲ Ha~ This corn should be quite delicious, but the price... let's hold back it!
▲Want to know who have all-you-can-eat king crabs?Buy one and cook it at home for more freshness!
▲ There are many specialty shops on the road, where you can stroll around.
▲ The glassware in this room has a good texture, but it was not allowed to start at that time~ (weeping)
▲ In fact, the title is "No," the seasoning bottle dripping on the bottle. (laugh)
▲ A view of Beiyi Hall, next to the coffee shop, accompanied by a soft voice.
◎ The Otaru Chikko Ferris Wheel is now out of service, but unfortunately it is not possible to see the Otaru city.
We happily follow the Otaru Chikko Ferris wheel introduced in the travel book. It is about 10 minutes away from JR Otaru Chikko Station. You can also choose to take a tram or bus to Chikko’s large shopping mall "Wing Bay Otaru" and get off. I just rushed to the Ferris wheel, but... I didn’t expect it to be retired. I had to take a picture of the appearance and go to Wing Bay Otaru for shopping. I suggest that there is no need to arrange additional attractions here, and time to stay in Otaru Glass The workshop is more interesting to see and learn.
◎ The Otaru Canal, reflecting the warehouses and lights.
In the past, I used to see friends writing articles and sharing the Otaru Canal with poisonous photos. Whether it was summer evenings or winter snow scenes, it was difficult to have the opportunity to visit the scene to see how beautiful it was. I didn’t question the beauty of the Otaru Canal, but only looked at the photos. Happily... "I want to go~", finally!I received an invitation from the Japan Tourism Agency to visit Hokkaido, which made me very excited to plan my itinerary, and felt like my dream came true.
Let me first talk about the origin of the Otaru Canal. In the early years, when commercial and trade exchanges outside the country, if you want to carry goods from the port into the inland, and then provide trade, you have to rely on the Otaru Canal. Therefore, Otaru was once listed as the financial and economic center of Hokkaido, known as the "north." "Wall Street" was very prosperous until World War II. However, after the war, the Otaru Canal lost its commercial function and was abandoned. At that time, part of the canal flat was used as a road, and only the current river landscape is left for people to watch.
The Otaru Canal is the favorite of many photography enthusiasts. When you come here to take pictures, remember to bring a tripod. The bright lights on the river are the most beautiful scenery.
▲ A reminder, don’t forget to sunscreen because the temperature is too comfortable!
▲ The evening was calm and windless, and the warehouse group was very beautiful by the Yinghe River.
▲ You can also take a boat and take a circle to see the surrounding scenery.
▲ The kerosene lamps are lit one by one, bringing the prelude to the night of the Otaru Canal.
▲ The sapphire blue river is a fascinating color.
▲ I plan to visit again next year, hoping to take pictures of the winter snow scene. (make a fist)
