Overall Review: Actual Accommodation Reviews of TAOYA in Hakone

TAOYA Hakone, launched in 2025 by the Oedo Onsen Monogatari Group, is an all-inclusive resort based in Sengokuhara, Hakone. It features a modern Japanese-style design incorporating traditional Japanese wood carving techniques. The advantages are that almost everything—food, drinks, and entertainment—is included without extra charges. The disadvantages are that some rooms are relatively small, the public bath is somewhat small, and the buffet selection may be a bit limited. Overall, it's suitable for mature travelers or couples seeking a relaxing vacation, who don't like to plan itineraries, and want to unwind and enjoy the all-inclusive service.

  • Service features and brand characteristics: All-inclusive dining, entertainment and leisure activities to help you relax, with surprises from check-in to check-out!Offering an all-inclusive package, the accommodation fee covers almost everything: unlimited alcohol and soft drinks during dinner and breakfast, afternoon tea, late-night tea, morning tea, as well as late-night meals and the use of high-performance massage chairs—a very comprehensive service. Check-in is quick, the front desk staff are friendly, and they are very considerate of families with children. Located in the tranquil mountains of Sengokuhara, it's known as a secluded resort for adults. The architecture incorporates Yosegi-zazuki (wooden joinery) elements, creating a modern Japanese-style atmosphere. It offers good value for money, but it still falls short of high-end resorts.
  • Room type selection and facilities features: All rooms have forest views, but be aware of the smaller spaces! All rooms offer forest views, with lush greenery right outside the windows, and the autumn foliage is a beautiful sight. Rooms are equipped with Dyson hairdryers, and the overall amenities are quite high-end. However, only toothbrushes are provided; other toiletries such as makeup remover, facial cleanser, toner, and lotion are available for shared use in the large public bath. The triple room is a bit cramped, and there are elevation differences within the room, so be careful when moving around. The building is divided into three sections, with the second and third floors connected. The third floor houses a tea party/social lounge, making third-floor rooms more convenient for navigating the area.
  • Dining areas and public facilities: The live cooking show was amazing, and the large public bath was comfortable, but the space was a bit small! The dining options are a Japanese-Western all-you-can-eat buffet. The on-site cooking area offers grilled seafood and roast beef, as well as freshly made crepes and desserts. However, the buffet selection is limited and not very extensive. The large public bath features an indoor bath, an outdoor bath, a sauna, and a water bath, along with a relaxation area and massage chairs. Considering the hotel's overall size, the large public bath and changing rooms are relatively small, making them feel slightly cramped. The third-floor tea lounge offers complimentary afternoon tea, late-night tea, and pre-breakfast tea services at various times.
  • Transportation and surrounding environment: Sengokuhara is surrounded by tranquil mountains and forests, and is very conveniently located near popular Hakone attractions!Located in the Sengokuhara Onsen area of Hakone, it's about a 25-minute drive from the Gotemba Interchange on the Tomei Expressway. Surrounded by lush forests and mountains, the environment is very tranquil, making it ideal for travelers who want to relax and unwind without a packed itinerary. Nearby attractions include the Sengokuhara Wetland Garden, Hakone's famous golden silvergrass meadow, the Pora Museum, and Owakudani, making it convenient for sightseeing. It's a place that combines the serenity of the mountains with easy access to tourist attractions.

⭐Recommendation rating: ★★★★☆ (4.5/5.0)

  • Recommended groups:Suitable for sophisticated travelers or couples who seek all-inclusive service, do not want to calculate extra food and beverage costs, and prefer a quiet and relaxing vacation atmosphere.
  • Reasons for recommendation:The price is good value for money compared to the all-inclusive package. The tea party and evening food services are plentiful, the check-in and check-out process is smooth, and the staff are friendly.

✅Reminders

  • Room layout reminder:Three-person rooms may be cramped and have varying heights, so please be careful when moving around and putting away your luggage.
  • We hope the buffet will be adjusted. The buffet selection and scale may be slightly insufficient for guests expecting luxurious and exquisite food; it is recommended to focus on the on-site cooking area and the all-inclusive beverage service.

【Room】 Standard Twin Room, 3 people (sliding bed, shower only) 【Price】 ¥51,600 → ¥44,000 (coupon discount) 【Check-in Dates】 November 17-18, 2025 【Stay Experience】 ★★★☆☆ 【Room】 ★★☆☆☆ 【Environment】 ★★★★☆ 【Dining】 ★★★★☆ 【Bathroom】 ★★★★★ 【Price】 ★★★☆☆ 【Value for Money】 ★★★☆☆ 【Stay Impression】 - As advertised, as an all-inclusive resort, desserts and drinks are available in the lounge at any time! Details are as follows: (7:00-11:00) → Bread, yogurt, fruit, drinks (14:00-17:00) → Desserts, alcoholic beverages (17:00-23:00) → Snacks, alcoholic beverages (21:00-23:00) → Due to work, I arrived around 18 PM for the late-night soba noodles, so I missed the dessert service from 14 PM to 17 PM. - The bath (large public bath) features soft lighting, creating a relaxing atmosphere, which I personally liked. The men's and women's baths rotate every other day. There are two baths: one indoor and one outdoor. Additionally, the outdoor bath has a cold water bath. The sauna can accommodate approximately four people. Both the indoor and outdoor baths are spacious, which is great, but if I had to nitpick, it would be even better if there were lounge chairs. ・The food quality was very high, and the taste was excellent. I personally loved the breakfast. Dinner included Häagen-Dazs ice cream, while breakfast featured seafood rice bowls and medium-fat tuna. The buffet quality far exceeded my expectations. *Below is my personal ranking of the food. ・Dinner offered a wide selection of drinks. ・The service was very attentive; the staff seemed well-trained in greetings and handling other important matters. The entire process from check-in to check-out was very pleasant! 【Drawbacks】 ・The room was small. (Different from the room I booked.) ・If the lounge's dessert service could be extended into the late hours, even night owls could fully enjoy the TAOYA Hakone Hotel. ・The morning bath is open until 10:00 AM; it would be even better if it opened earlier at 11:00 AM, so that even if you finish breakfast at 9:00 AM, you can still take a bath afterwards. ・Many tableware items had water stains (especially the glasses). ・The popular fried mackerel (for breakfast) was not available. ・There was no fresh juice, only a beverage bar. ・A 4cm long insect appeared in my room. (Considering the surrounding natural environment, there's nothing that can be done…) 【Food Ranking】 1st Place: Okonomiyaki Seafood Rice Bowl (Breakfast) 00nd Place: Onsen Manju (Breakfast) 11rd Place: Mango "Caspian Yogurt Mango" (Breakfast) 00th Place: Tempura (Dinner) 00th Place: Raspberry Mousse (Breakfast) Additional Recommendation: Night Tears Soba Noodles 【Introduction】 - Opened November 11, 2025. Originally a company leisure facility, this hotel has been renovated and now boasts distinctive rooms. The largest (and smallest) room has a staircase at the entrance, leaving almost no open space. If you just want to sleep, that's fine. However, due to the lack of relaxation space, you'll end up just lying in bed. The hotel also has a lounge area, a very pleasant place to while away the hours. The spacious and comfortable lounge is ideal for relaxation. Being an all-inclusive service, the lounge usually offers drinks and food, so dining is not inconvenient. The baths include an open-air bath, a sauna, and a cold bath (the open-air bath also has a cold bath option). I personally enjoyed the cold bath. If I had to be picky, it would be even better if the open-air bath had lounge chairs. Breakfast and dinner were both good, but I personally preferred breakfast. Dinner had a wide selection of drinks, but no main courses, so everything tasted pretty much the same. The seafood rice bowl at breakfast was delicious. Overall, I'm very glad I stayed at 22,000 yen per person, thanks to the hotel's discount. Without the discount, I think the price might have been a bit high. The hotel staff were warm and attentive, and I had a pleasant time. Thank you very much for taking the time.

"I stayed at this hotel in early March. This was my first time staying at a Taoyuan hotel. 【Pros】 - Overall, the service was very good. The shuttle bus driver was friendly, and all the staff were very helpful. - On the day of our check-in, our room was ready before 3 PM, so check-in was smooth. - We chose the 6:30 PM dinner time slot, but were told beforehand that this was the hotel's busiest time. We chose this time cautiously, but there was no long wait or food shortage. The dining experience was comfortable. - We stayed in a standard room on the fourth floor. Although it wasn't spacious, it was enough for me. I had read some reviews saying the rooms were small, but I didn't mind at all. Because it was on the fourth floor, the view was great. (I think the view from the fourth floor is better than the rooms on other floors.) 【Cons】 - I guess there's nothing we can do about it, but… the dressing room in the large bathroom is rather small. Even on a weekday, around 4 PM before dinner, there was a queue for the hairdryer. (The same goes for the wash area), but there's nothing we can do about it. Similarly, there were no toiletries in the large public bathroom's wash area. I found that a bit inconvenient. Maybe I just didn't find them, but there were no lotions or similar items in the room." (There wasn't much to take back to the room from near the reception.) The food wasn't particularly delicious. Of course, it wasn't bad either. Just average. The sashimi and sushi were just okay. Overall, the service was good. Thank you.
