OMO7 Yokohama will grandly open on April 21, 2026. Formerly the old city hall building designed by modern Japanese architect Togo Murano, this eight-story building, completed in 1959, was a symbolic structure commemorating the 100th anniversary of Yokohama's opening to the world. OMO7 Yokohama is a key component of Yokohama's Old City Hall district revitalization project. Designed as a heritage hotel, it preserves and repurposes the original City Hall's tiled walls and grand staircase as key elements of the hotel's design. In addition, a new mixed-use building will be constructed next to the hotel, housing various shops, a university, offices, and an innovation center, with performance venues and a civic plaza in front.
