MANGA ART HOTEL Bakurocho has convenient transportation and is co-located with the entrance and exit of JR Bakurocho Station. It adopts the comic-themed hotel design that has become quite popular in recent years. Each room is filled with various comics and adopts a similar design. The bed design of the youth hostel is similar to that of a serviced apartment with a complete dining room, kitchen and living room, making it very suitable for groups and families to stay together. "During the Golden Week holiday in 2025, our family of four stayed here for one night. While I wouldn't recommend it to those who can't live without a bathtub, it's a good option for a moderate number of people looking for a spacious, comfortable, and fun stay. Prices may change daily, but for reference, our room for four cost 44,000 yen (which is quite reasonable considering current hotel prices in Tokyo). The building was formerly the Hokutosei Train Hostel. The reception is on the first floor, the second floor can accommodate up to 10 people, and the third to fifth floors can accommodate up to 12 people, with one guest room on each floor. Each guest room is 75 square meters. Upon check-in, I was told my room was on the fifth floor. The room had three IKEA-style bunk beds. There was also a large sofa and an Aladdin projector that doubled as lighting. The kitchen had an induction cooktop and a large sink, and included a dining table and bar seating, accommodating up to 10 people. The three-door refrigerator had a capacity of over 400 liters, convenient for carrying ice cream and frozen food." The bathroom, sink, and shower facilities, while basic, were clean and there were two of each, making them ideal for large groups. The hotel also had a Sharp front-loading washing machine, though we didn't use it. If there's any drawback, it's the single-pane windows. I checked in during Golden Week, and since the hotel is located in Makurocho, it was usually quiet at night, but I think noise could be an issue depending on the daytime. The hotel's location is excellent, just a 0-minute walk from JR Makurocho Exit 4, and there's a 7-Eleven right next door. I initially planned to order takeout via Uber, but the Maruman supermarket, only a three-minute walk from the hotel, was fantastic! They had fresh vegetables, meat, and fish at much lower prices than downtown. I made a simple salad in my room, ate some sashimi, and grilled some meat. The hotel provided ample plates and cutlery, as well as two cutting boards, one size (though the knife wasn't very sharp, haha). By the way, there's a Denny's restaurant across from the Maruman supermarket, so we had breakfast there. The families staying here were excitedly discussing returning to this hotel next year. It might be a good choice for families with children, or for two families staying together. Oh, by the way, I checked out without even turning a single page of my comic book, haha.

"It's right next to Exit 4 of the subway. There's a 7-Eleven on the left downstairs, and Lawson's a short walk to the right. There's also a Denny's beyond Lawson, and a supermarket across from Denny's. It's very convenient to buy groceries and eat back in the room. Check-in is semi-self-service. You can use a tablet at the counter for a live video call to help you check in and give you the room code, but the only languages are Japanese and English. A blessing for otaku! From the check-in counter to the room, there are manga everywhere, from classics to the latest. You can read them standing, sitting, or lying down, but only in Japanese. There's one room per floor, with two bathrooms and a washing machine in each room. Laundry detergent is provided. The downside is that the air conditioner seems to have been uncleaned in a long time; looking up from under it, the filter is covered in years of dust."
