Kitano Tenmangu Shrine, this unexpected maple viewing spot in Kyoto, was one of Happy Cloud’s favorite attractions when I met her once. Because it is not the first choice for most maple viewing itineraries, it is often visited by tourists. In rare cases, on the quiet and not noisy trail, there is only the sound of the wind blowing through the red leaves, and the occasional "きれい" sound of admiration, which is worth a closer look.

A must visit!Kitano Tenmangu Palace Imperial Palace

It was the first time to experience maple viewing on a cloudy day with rain. Compared with the day before,Tofukuji Temple is full of sunshine, with the red leaves layered with light and shadow, and the weather conditions when I arrived at Tenmangu Shrine, I couldn't muster any motivation. I watched the light rain falling in the sky while eating the hot food I bought from the market, and waited for the rain to stop. When we visited inside, there was a huge difference in light between a rainy day and a sunny day. Let the delicious food in our hands soothe our slightly disappointed mood.

Let me first sort out the background of the Odoju. There are several Odoju in Kyoto. It is said that Toyotomi Hideyoshi built it to defend against foreign enemies and waterproof. This earthen wall is about 23 kilometers long. The Odoju is the "Rakuzhong" of Kyoto. "Luowai", the part that surrounds Kyoto with earthen walls is Luozhong. A large number of maple trees are planted inside and outside. Every autumn, the inside and outside become red, forming the most beautiful scenery with other green trees and ginkgo trees.

The most beautiful shooting angle of Kitano Tenmangu Shrine Odoi

On a rainy day and there are not many tourists, there is almost no need to queue up. You can take pictures of the Orio Bridge from the most beautiful angle. Since 2007, the Odoi Palace has been open to the public under the name of "Momiji Garden". Based on the experience of visiting, I really like the red leaves surrounding it. On the gurgling Paper House River, there are occasional green bamboos as a contrasting color, which is a very good place to shoot photos. In addition, because there is a fee to enter, there is a teahouse at the end of the route, providing tourists with hot tea and desserts.
