Hotels by Granbell is a boutique design hotel brand that adopts a modern art deco style. Compared with the Granbell Hotels in the same group's selected series, each hotel has its own unique design style. It not only enhances the luxurious texture of the design, but also adds boutique-level large baths, bars, garden terraces and other leisure facilities, providing a light luxury accommodation atmosphere that is very different from business hotels.

Quick overview: Service features and basic introduction of the Granbell Hotel series
The Granbell Hotel (ホテルby グランべル) belongs to the PREMIUM series of the Granbell Hotel Group. It can be regarded as an upgraded version of the Granbell Hotels brand under the same group. It focuses on luxury-level boutique design hotels with complete facilities. In 2023, the first brand location was opened in Ginza, Tokyo. All of them are located in a brand new building and are light luxury hotels built from scratch.
The Granbell Hotel brand is a boutique hotel with a casual style and luxurious design. It adopts a modern Art Deco design style and has restaurants, bars, open-air balconies and other spaces with a strong relaxing atmosphere. It does not have the basic business facilities such as conference rooms and banquet halls of star-rated hotels, nor does it have extra-large luxury suites. The design focuses on the carefully designed large public bath facilities, providing a casual accommodation atmosphere that goes beyond a business hotel.

It is engaged in food, clothing, cosmetics, health food, logistics, property management and hotel management. In 6, it founded the 2006% wholly-owned Granbell Hotel Group. The company is located in Kyobashi, Tokyo, and is engaged in brand development and operation management of domestic and foreign resorts, hotels and ryokan.
Granbell Hotel Group focuses on creative design hotels that integrate art. In conjunction with designer artists, each hotel's appearance, service and room design are unique. It has launched four series of hotel brands: Le Grand, Hotels by Granbell, Granbell Hotels, and Holic Hotels. It also operates many Japanese-style inns throughout Japan, and has established bases in Sri Lanka, Maldives, and Hawaii. Its business has also expanded to wedding services.
The deluxe room was very large, with a sofa, and could accommodate three people. There was plenty of storage space in the room. The spa was good and had long opening hours. The location was convenient, with many restaurants nearby and close to the train tracks, but it wasn't noisy in the room. Compared to another hotel chain, Daiwa, the service at this hotel was noticeably inferior and less attentive (the Wi-Fi password was displayed on a piece of paper for guests to remember/there were fewer amenities in the lobby), but it was still acceptable. However, be aware that one floor of the hotel is a nightclub, and there are also bars nearby, so the area gets very crowded and chaotic on Friday and Saturday nights.

It's an 8-10 minute walk from the station, passing through a bar street at night. The safety is okay. The hotel rooms are spacious enough to fit two large suitcases. The hotel spa is open to the public and can be used for overnight stays; thankfully, it wasn't crowded. The decor is very cyberpunk, but it's quite clean!

Accommodation period: October 16-20, 2025. The four-day stay was excellent. It's about a 10-minute walk to the North Exit of Sapporo Station, and there's a FamilyMart convenience store inside the hotel. Our car rental return point is conveniently located within a 5-minute walk. We didn't purchase breakfast separately. The bed was comfortable, and the room was spacious. The bathroom has overhead lighting, so bring your own makeup mirror if you mind. Upon check-in, staff clearly stated which day the room would be cleaned (clean towels were provided in a bag hanging on the doorknob at other times). Not cleaning the room daily wasn't a problem for us (other amenities were readily available in the lobby). The large public bath upstairs was spacious, with hot and cold tubs, a sauna, and a semi-outdoor area (with large windows for ventilation but partitions for privacy). We used it daily during our stay and loved it! The hot tub temperature was approximately 41-42 degrees Celsius, but the cold tub didn't have a temperature display. The ladies' shower area was thoughtfully equipped with makeup remover and facial cleanser. While the hair dryer and stylist area might be full during peak hours, it's convenient if you don't want to wait until you get back to your room. The TV didn't project properly, but we didn't mind and didn't ask. However, we could see the usage of the public laundry room; it would be perfect if the large public bath area could also be monitored via TV in the future! A word of caution: if you're ordering delivery like we did, the hotel has a curfew (room key required), so you might need to pick up your food outside the hotel. The lounge area upstairs in the large public bath area was very comfortable. Although we didn't have a chance to dine there, the hotel's indoor clothing was comfortable and easy to wear. We wanted to buy some, but when we asked the front desk, they said they didn't sell them, which was a shame. Some reviews mentioned that most guests were foreigners and therefore unfamiliar with the local bath culture. I suggest that the hotel provide a guide upon check-in; it would be helpful for everyone to follow. Overall, the stay was excellent, and I would definitely stay here again if I had the chance to go to Sapporo! Thank you for all the wonderful service 🙏

The hotel is quite modern, opening in March 2025. The lobby is spacious and includes a convenience store, so you won't be hungry late at night. There are also toiletries, tea bags, and coffee available in the lobby. Check-in can be self-service or done at the counter; this time, we asked the counter staff for help, which was quite quick, although they were a bit busy. After checking in, they helped us collect our luggage. In the public areas, we used the rooftop hot spring and relaxation area. The relaxation area was spacious with night views and had lounge chairs and beanbag chairs for everyone to use. The gym next door had a good selection of equipment. Next was the public hot spring area, which included indoor and semi-outdoor bathtubs. The indoor area had an aromatherapy pool and a private bathtub, as well as a steam room and sauna – a fairly diverse hotel hot spring experience. However, the toiletries in the changing room and grooming area were somewhat limited. Guests should bring their own towels! Room: The room was spacious with a beautiful view from the window; you could even see the houses across the street. Remember to draw the curtains. Four pillows were provided, all very comfortable. The bed was also comfortable, with just the right firmness. Amenities can be obtained from the first floor, so the room didn't offer many. The only downside to the bathroom was the slow hot water flow. The hotel is about a 15-minute walk from the station. If it's snowing, I recommend taking a taxi to the station or to the hotel!
