How to get to Dajia Riverside Park during the Sunflower Season? | Transportation Tips and Route Analysis

Tips for taking public transportation

Dajia Riverside Park, located in Taipei's Zhongshan District, lies adjacent to the left bank of the Keelung River. Spanning over 100 hectares, it's a rare large riverside green space within the city. The park borders Jianguo North Road and Songjiang Road to the south, and Minsheng East Road and the Dazhi Bridge to the east. Accessibility is excellent, whether by MRT, bus, or along the riverside bike path.

MRT + Bus | Yuanshan Station / Songshan Airport Station Transfer Route

  • MRT Wenhu Line Songshan Airport Station | After exiting Songshan Airport Station, transfer to bus routes 225, 222, 72, or Brown 16 and get off at either Dajia Elementary School or Binjiang Junior High School. It's a 5-minute walk to the park. Route 225 is highly recommended for its short ride and convenient transfers. If the bus schedule is longer, you can also take routes 222 or 72, both of which reach nearby stops.
  • Note: Bus schedules may be adjusted due to weekdays and holidays or operating hours. Before departure, please use the Taipei Bus App or the Taipei City Bus Information Website to check the latest routes and schedules, especially for holiday-only schedules such as Red 34.

MRT + Taxi | Quick Direct and Return Trip Recommendations

If you don't want to transfer to the bus, the fastest way is to take the MRT to Yuanshan Station or Songshan Airport Station and then take a taxi. The ride takes about 10–15 minutes and costs around NT$200 each way, making it suitable for groups of friends, seniors, or families. For the return trip, we recommend using an Uber or taxi, locating the taxi at the entrance to the Dajia Riverside Park parking lot. This is a time-saving and convenient option, as you don't have to worry about finding the pickup location.

MRT + Ubike | Riverside Bike Path Cycling Guide

Rent an Ubike from Dazhi Station or Songshan Airport Station on the Wenhu Line and follow the riverside bike path along the left bank of the Keelung River to the park. The route is smooth and safe, offering panoramic river views and a 15-20 minute ride, perfect for those wanting to experience Taipei's cycling culture.

Driving and Parking Information

If you choose to drive, we recommend setting your navigation to "Dajia Riverside Park Parking Lot." Paid parking is available within the park, and while spaces are usually plentiful on weekdays, they can be tight during holiday periods, so it's recommended to arrive early or avoid peak hours. Parking will provide easy access to the main flower area, making it a very convenient option. This option is particularly suitable for families or those traveling with a large amount of equipment, as they don't have to worry about transportation.

Dajia Riverside Park Sunflower Season Update | Best Time to View the Flowers and Blooming Period

2025 Sunflower Bloom Forecast and Best Viewing Week

Sunflower season is expected to begin in late September and continue into early October, lasting approximately four to five weeks. The best time to enjoy the flowers is usually in late September, when the blossoms are at their most vibrant and vibrant, making it the perfect time for photo opportunities and family outings. I recommend avoiding the first and last weeks of the season for beginners, as the flowers may not have fully bloomed or may have already begun to fade, which can negatively impact your viewing experience.

On-site flower conditions | Flower sea in full bloom and flower status updates

As of yesterday (September 2025, 9), when I visited Dajia Riverside Park, only about 16% of the sunflowers were in bloom, still in their early blooming stages. However, some areas were already in full bloom, blanketed in golden blossoms, offering beautiful photos, especially near the observation deck and along the trails. New travelers are advised to photograph these areas in full bloom, or to take advantage of the morning light to capture a small portion of the blooms, avoiding crowds while still capturing the best views. The blooms are expected to be even more abundant over the next one to two weeks, making it a great time to catch the blossoms and take photos.

Photography Tips | Carrying Photographic Equipment and Sun Protection Recommendations

The sunflower fields at Dajia Riverside Park are perfect for photography. Enthusiasts are advised to bring a telephoto lens to capture distant blossoms or details, creating rich, layered images. The weather is typically sunny and the sun is strong, making it easy to get sunburned. Remember to bring sunscreen, a hat, and sun protection. To avoid crowds, visit early in the morning or on weekdays to capture the beautiful scenery while protecting your skin.

Bonus: Taoyuan Xiangyang Farm Sunflower Season

Taoyuan's Xiangyang Farm is on my bucket list. Every summer, there are so many beautiful sunflower photos. So when Wendy suggested taking us there, I was incredibly happy. I could finally photograph the sea of sunflowers. My initial visit was a bit disappointing. Later, I saw an update on the official Facebook page, saying the flowers and the environment have improved, and anyone who wants to take photos of sunflowers can go there.
