The Capella Kyoto hotel occupies more than 4,000 square meters of building space. The interior design pays homage to the modern design aesthetics of traditional Japanese architecture, and integrates elements of Kyoto weaving techniques with Zen-style space design. The hotel has restaurants, banquet halls, spas and other facilities. The hotel atrium recreates the Tang-style roof design of a dance hall and has cherry blossom trees from the old school building. The hotel also cleverly reuses the building materials of the old school building in the details.
The Capella Kyoto features three distinctive dining options. The signature restaurant is inspired by the traditional teahouses of the geisha district, while another restaurant, a Japanese restaurant that evokes memories of the old Shindo Elementary School, offers artisan cuisine and bartender-crafted drinks. Finally, there is an all-day French bistro facing the atrium, which reinterprets classic French cuisine with delicate culinary techniques.
