There are 207 rooms in the Shinchi Chinatown Hotel Nagasaki, concentrated on floors 2-10. The mainstream room types are standard rooms of 17㎡ and 21㎡. Each room is equipped with a sofa bed by the window, which can accommodate up to 3 people. Adults are allowed to stay, and up to 2 infants and toddlers who do not occupy the bed are allowed to stay together, which is very useful for parent-child families. In addition, a large private spa room is specially set up on the top floor of the 12th floor. The room is equipped with a private bath and is also the room type with the best view in the entire hotel.

This time I stayed in a standard twin room. The bed in the room was configured with Hollywood twin beds. There was no need to move the bed, so a family of three could sleep comfortably. When I entered the room for the first time, I felt that the room was decorated in a rather old-school Japanese business hotel, and I didn’t find much surprise. However, the longer I stayed, the more I felt at ease. This is the charm of old-school design, coupled with careful maintenance and cleanliness, it is natural. It has become a long-lasting Japanese-style star hotel. (🔎Reservation prices and accommodation reviews:agoda|booking.com|Trip|klook)

Comprehensive review: A real-life review of Candeo Hotels Nagasaki Shinchi Chinatown

The Candeo Hotels Nagasaki Shinchi Chinatown is a modern, affordable business hotel. Its highlight is the rooftop open-air hot spring bath, offering panoramic views of Nagasaki city. It's a two-minute walk from Chinatown and is surrounded by restaurants, convenience stores, and drugstores. However, the hotel offers limited room space, making it difficult to accommodate two large suitcases, and no on-site parking. Overall, it's a good choice for those who value convenience and enjoy the hot spring facilities, and is also recommended for business travelers or tourists on a budget.

  • Service features and brand characteristics: friendly and professional service team, modern management system! The hotel lobby is filled with a light, elegant fragrance, creating a comfortable atmosphere. The service quality is exceptional for a hotel in this price range. The staff is highly professional and helpful. The front desk staff are friendly and welcoming, and some speak Chinese. The hotel utilizes a modern card management system, requiring room cards to access the elevator to your room floor. Check-out is simple; simply drop your room card into the check-out box at the main entrance, eliminating the need to visit the 11th-floor front desk, where a variety of complimentary toiletries are available for pick-up.
  • Room selection and equipment features: Modern minimalist style rooms, new equipment but limited space! The guest rooms feature a modern, minimalist design with earthy tones, creating a warm and comfortable environment. They also feature a large flat-screen TV with mobile projection for convenient viewing. The bed is perfectly soft, and there's a comfortable seating area by the window, offering views of Nagasaki. While the room was generally clean and tidy, it was relatively small, and two 28-inch suitcases couldn't be fully opened at the same time. Complimentary mineral water is provided, and the bathroom is equipped with a bidet and high-quality shower products, though the sink and bathtub are a bit close together.
  • Dining space and public facilities: rich breakfast options, rooftop hot springs, and complete rest facilities! The 11th-floor breakfast restaurant offers a rich Japanese and Western buffet breakfast, featuring local delicacies such as Nagasaki cake and mentaiko (cod roe). Enjoy a view of Mount Inasa while dining. The 12th-floor rooftop features a large public hot spring bath, including indoor and outdoor pools, a cold plunge pool, and a sauna. The open-air hot spring bath offers a panoramic view of Nagasaki's nightscape. It's open late, but the changing rooms are a bit cramped and can get crowded during peak hours. Ice machines are available on every floor, and alcoholic beverages and snacks are sold in the 11th-floor lobby. There's also an adjacent laundromat open until 23:30 PM.
  • Transportation and surroundings: Located near Nagasaki Chinatown, it's convenient for sightseeing and shopping! The hotel is located in a prime location in central Nagasaki, just a 1-2 minute walk from the Shinchi Chinatown tram stop. Within walking distance are attractions such as Spectacles Bridge, Dejima, and Glover Garden. Chinatown is directly across from the hotel, with a large drugstore downstairs and a fruit shop around the corner. Aeon Supermarket, 7-Eleven, and FamilyMart are also nearby. However, the hotel lacks dedicated parking and requires parking at the Times Parking Lot across the street, which charges 11-1000 yen per night. Also, the roads in front of the hotel are closed to traffic during certain hours, so self-driving travelers should be aware of traffic restrictions.
