Overall Review: Actual Accommodation Reviews of BRACKETS HOTEL in Honmachi, Osaka

BRACKETS HOTEL Osaka Honmachi focuses on a simple and clean accommodation experience, featuring tiny rooms of only 11 square meters. Its advantages include a 2-minute walk to Honmachi Station, providing direct access to Umeda, Shinsaibashi, Namba, and other areas. The hotel boasts modern and clean facilities at a relatively affordable price. The main drawbacks are an extremely cramped bathroom with a bathtub only 1 meter long that is too close to the toilet, making it inconvenient to use; a limited number of elevators leading to waiting times during peak hours; and poor soundproofing allowing noise to be heard in the hallway. Overall, it's suitable for solo business travelers or backpackers with light luggage, and also recommended for those who just need a place to sleep and don't mind the small room size. Those with large luggage or who prioritize comfort should consider it.

  • Service features and brand characteristics: A new concept of Japanese minimalism, with brand-new and complete facilities! Solare Hotels, a Japanese group, has launched its newest brand, formerly known as Four Points by Sheraton under the Marriott Group. Using square brackets as its brand identifier, the hotel aims to provide a clean, minimalist, and high-quality accommodation environment at all times. The hotel's new facilities are commendable; both the exterior and interior décor are modern and tidy, with excellent cleanliness in the corridors and public spaces. It offers 24-hour front desk service, self-service laundry facilities, and amenities such as toothbrushes for self-service use. However, the attitude of the front desk staff could be improved. A newly opened Lawson convenience store next to the lobby is very convenient.
  • Room type selection and equipment features: Super mini room design, the bathroom is small but manageable! The hotel has 503 guest rooms, offering single rooms, double rooms, and bunk beds. Children aged 6 and above are charged as adults. While the rooms are small, the space is acceptable for solo travelers. Rooms on higher floors offer views of Osaka. However, the bathroom space is the most problematic aspect. The bathtub is only 1 meter long and extremely narrow. The toilet is too close to the wall, making it very inconvenient to use. The lack of space in the shower makes it difficult to shower comfortably, making it unsuitable for taller individuals. The soundproofing in the rooms is poor, allowing noise from the hallway and neighboring rooms to be heard.
  • Dining space and public facilities: The lack of restaurant facilities and insufficient elevators are major problems! The hotel building itself does not have an attached restaurant or breakfast service. The ground floor, which originally housed a restaurant, has been converted into a Lawson convenience store. Nearby restaurants include Sanuki Udon Isshin, a Japanese udon noodle shop. Public facilities are limited to basic business hotel amenities. The most serious problem is the severe shortage of elevators; the 29-story building only has two small elevators and one large elevator, which must be shared with staff. During peak check-out hours from 7:2 AM to 10:1 AM, waiting for the elevator to go downstairs can take 10 to 15 minutes. It is recommended to avoid using the elevators during peak hours.
  • Transportation and surrounding environment: It's a 2-minute walk from the subway station, making it very convenient to get to attractions! The hotel is located 150 meters from Exit 17 of Honmachi Station, a 2-minute walk. Honmachi Station is a transfer station for the Osaka Metro Midosuji Line, Chuo Line, and Yotsubashi Line, providing direct access to Umeda, Shinsaibashi, Namba, Tennoji, and other areas, making it an ideal base for Osaka tourism. There are 7-Eleven and FamilyMart convenience stores nearby. The hotel is located in a somewhat inconspicuous alley, so it's recommended to check the exact location beforehand. Overall, the hotel's convenient location and affordable price are its main advantages.

"Exit 18 of Honmachi Station. The elevator is hidden around a corner. You have to walk up the stairs and look to the right to see it. The nearest convenience store is about a 3-minute walk (about 3 minutes?). That store has a wide variety of items and 8 seats for guests. ... Opening the door and walking in, it feels more spacious than I expected. The door is large enough to comfortably push luggage in. But in actual use... I must say, it's very inconvenient! The first two hours seemed to be spent constantly dropping things and finding places to put them. 🤣 Desk: Things keep falling. Because the desk width was saved. The desk width could be aligned with the refrigerator, but for some reason, it's a few centimeters shorter? Bathroom: Saved on the "shelves" and "towel racks" on the sink. Shower: Unable to find a place for the large towel, I ended up putting it on the toilet seat. 😓 (Because there were five towels in total—large and small—along with the foot mat, all on one stick, it was secured tightly. It wouldn't easily fall off, but it wasn't easy to pull out and use either.) Also, when I put the shower gel back, it "slipped" and fell behind the toilet. 🤣 The sink drains slowly: The drain pipe has a slight bend, maybe for a specific purpose?! Shower head: Small, round head, but the water pressure can be adjusted. Important: "Drinking water" The bathroom faucet is only for drinking water when switched to cold water. Be careful and double-check before adjusting. Because I adjusted it wrong. (Careless!) When switching from hot to cold water, turn it all the way down! Toilet platform: It was the only place in the bathroom with storage. When brushing my teeth before bed, I had nowhere to put my contact lenses, etc. I finally had a place to put my belongings after putting the spare toilet paper elsewhere. There was a small trash can in the bathroom 👍👍👍. Super convenient for girls to throw away makeup remover pads, cotton swabs, dental floss, and hair shed while washing their hair. Some business hotels have removed the small trash cans, requiring you to bring your own small transparent plastic bags as temporary trash cans. After searching around for a while, I found the only truly ideal place to put things was actually the two wide sides of the bathtub! 🤣 It's so useful! 👍 (But to keep your belongings dry, you should leave a dry towel there.) In short, from the moment I entered the room, I constantly felt like I was "looking for a place" to put things. (Tired! 🤣) I booked a small double room with a large bed: perhaps more suitable for solo travelers. Because there's more "space" to put things. 🤣 It's best not to have breakfast or dinner in the room; keep everything minimalist. Just want a quick check-in, a good night's sleep, and a clean, bright, and refreshing room. Single guests who eat out first and then come back to shower and sleep will find the room very comfortable. By the way, I found a place to store the hairdryer so it wouldn't take up space on the desk. (For some reason, I feel a little sense of accomplishment about this?! 🤣) The place is under the clothes rack where the two horizontal racks are. The "metal shelf" was originally for spray disinfectant products; I used it to put the hairdryer, which is perfect. The hairdryer's place is for the charger. Why order such a long wooden board? Couldn't such a long board have more hooks? Placing it under the clothes rack means that if it's a long winter coat, it will hit the long board used for putting on shoes. Under the bed: There's enough space for one large and one small suitcase. There's also space on the floor to spread out large luggage. This is better than other small business hotels. There were four clothes racks. 👍 The room didn't have a table lamp, but it was bright enough. However, when one person wanted to sleep and turned off the light, the other had to go to the bathroom because that's where the light was. It also reduced the need for "unnecessary" paper and pens. People use their phones to take notes these days. The refrigerator: It didn't have a freezer function; it was a small refrigerator for chilled drinks. When we came back, we found it was broken! After checking, we found the plug was loose and had fallen off! So I plugged it back in and threw away the lettuce that was in the refrigerator. My impression of the stay was: a "wonderful" experience. Everything was new because it was newly opened. The elevator: very fast. Breakfast: It seemed there was no paid breakfast. Washing machines: 4. Microwave: The small one had an ice maker. Pajamas: Self-service next to the elevator exit. The front desk staff were very friendly. Aside from the issue of things easily falling, I would still recommend this hotel. Maybe it's just that I'm not used to it. What does BRACKETS mean in Chinese (?)? To me, it means (Ah!) (Lost) (Where to put things?) Storage area: Basically, you just unfold your suitcase, pull it out to use, and then push it back under the bed before going to sleep.

"Convenient transportation, a five-minute walk from Honmachi Station, close to Shinsaibashi, a major transportation hub, and within walking distance. The hotel opened in 2025, so the facilities are very new. There are washer and dryer facilities in the lobby, and luggage storage is also available. There's a Lawson on the first floor, which is very convenient. This time, I stayed on the 28th floor, which had a great view. The room was small, with only one suitcase that could be opened at a time, or the second one would have to be opened from the bed. The bathroom was also the smallest I've ever stayed in, but it was clean and had plenty of hot water. In winter, you can take a nice hot shower when you come back to the hotel. The TV allows you to log in to your own account to use YouTube and Netflix, and the soundproofing is also very good, so you can sleep soundly. Currently, the air conditioning is not working, but the heating is available. The central air conditioning is a bit weak, so it's a bit stuffy. Opening a window a little can completely improve the situation, but I'm not sure how it will be in the summer. The front desk staff were all very friendly, and they had no problem communicating in English. Only one female manager seemed to be tired of working and looked unhappy, so we tried to avoid contact with her. What I think could be improved this time is that there was only one hook, so all the clothes had to be folded up and hung up, leaving no place to dry towels. Overall, considering the transportation, cleanliness, and price, it's good value for money. If you don't mind the small room, I would highly recommend this hotel 😊"

Located next to Metro Honmachi Station, be aware that the nearest elevator (escalator) is at Exit 8; most exits don't have elevators, making it inconvenient to load and unload luggage. It's about a 10-minute walk to Shinsaibashi and a short walk to the Kansai Airport bus stop, or about a 10-minute taxi ride (around 2000 yen). Clean, safe, and simple, it's perfect for solo travelers. The window view is fantastic, both day and night. The bed and pillows are comfortable. The bathroom is a small, integrated unit, about 1.5 square meters, which might be too small for men; you should assess the space yourself. Breakfast is not provided, but self-service laundry is available. If you need a taxi, please ask the front desk. The Lawson is on the first floor. If you stay for more than two days and don't need cleaning, they will provide new towels in plastic bags and hang them on the door for you.
