The following morning, we had the pool all to ourselves, with the two children successfully completing a full freestyle swim. --- 🥇We booked a lake-facing room to watch the ebb and flow of the tides, the changing surface of the lake, and the rolling hills; 💯The room was very comfortable overall, exuding a relaxed and vacation-like atmosphere; 🎁Both the physical and emotional value were excellent: Aesop shower gel, shampoo, lotion set, Dyson hair dryer, Devialate Mania speaker, Toto automatic sensor bidet toilet, Daikin dehumidifier, a variety of pillows to choose from, Nespresso coffee machine, and a mini bar with plenty of alcoholic and soft drinks; 💓In addition to a small bathtub and a small balcony directly facing the lake, it was truly beautiful; ㊙️There was even a refillable sparkling water machine in the corridor, which was amazing. --- Breakfast at the "Four Seasons Restaurant" was a semi-buffet, served from 7:00 to 11:00. The whole family slept until after 8:07, and after washing up, we leisurely went there. The restaurant features a selection of exquisite Chinese and Western main courses, all à la carte, designed by the chef, paired with a self-service upscale bar. Recommended main courses include: American ribeye steak with eggs (I ate 5 pieces, sorry!); Lobster omelet (luxurious lobster meat in an omelet, with the restaurant logo on the outside – the first one was amazing, but my mood cooled down afterwards 🤣🤣🤣); and the premium abalone congee (my sister ate it all, we didn't know anything about it 😜😜😜). The clear beef noodle soup and wonton noodles were just average. The bread and cakes were excellent; the cinnamon bread, lemon cake, and mentaiko French bread were all delicious. --- Finally, there's the spa on the 11th floor. I have some experience with hot springs: Arima Onsen, one of Japan's three oldest hot springs; hotels in Kawaguchiko and Suginoi, Kyushu, offer outdoor baths where you can embrace nature; and the Hotel Indigo in Hakone features family-style baths in the rooms, overlooking the stream – all unique experiences. In comparison, Taiwan's hot springs, whether in Beitou, Wulai, Guguan, Jiaoxi, Guanziling, or Ruisui, while each with its own unique characteristics, seem to lack a comprehensive experience. Today, being able to enjoy a hot spring with panoramic views of Sun Moon Lake and three different temperatures truly relaxes both body and mind. Overall, it's a hotel worth revisiting, though I'll need to save up some money. [A side note from observation] About 5% of the staff are non-Taiwanese, mainly from Southeast Asia. If such a top-tier hotel doesn't have Taiwanese employees, it makes one wonder: where has Taiwan's workforce gone? Have they all gone to the tech industry?

The first hotel in Taiwan that I felt was worth the hefty price tag was the Grand Hyatt Taipei. It wasn't the facilities or the scenery, but rather the exceptionally high level of training and education among the entire staff. Before check-in, housekeeping asked if I was driving and if I needed charging equipment. Since my Tesla is a new model and can't use Tape 1, they even provided an adapter. As soon as I entered the parking area, they immediately called out my name, and before I even got out of the car, the assistant manager came over to greet me and have a waiter fetch my luggage, keys, and assist with parking. During my two days there, I encountered many service staff, and they didn't come across as obsequious; on the contrary, they were very confident. In fact, truly top-notch service emphasizes "dignified and equal hospitality." Because the Grand Hyatt Taipei has several valuable art collections, I was curious, and the hotel had a gentleman give us a guided tour. This gentleman asked why Yayoi Kusama likes to create pumpkin art. The comments on the paintings were incredibly detailed and moving, from the placement of the signature to the description of Zhang Daqian's "Begonia and Myna," the sincere friendship between the master and the poet Xie Yucen, the imagery of Qi Baishi's wisteria branches, Zhu Ming's childhood illness and his teacher-student relationship with Yang Yingfeng, and the inspiration Tai Chi gave to his art. But when I went up to the sauna later, he transformed into a receptionist, handing me a towel! This truly surprised me; he was both a lifestyle aesthetics consultant and an invisible butler. Another gentleman took us for a walk along the literary trail in the morning. We went for meridian massage around 6:00 AM and then asked him to take us hiking at 7:30 AM, so the connection was a bit rushed. I casually mentioned that I wasn't sure if it would be sunny and I didn't have time to apply sunscreen. Without a second thought, he calmly pulled a bottle of high-end Aesop sunscreen from his backpack and handed it to me! Mediocre service is reactive, while top-notch service is being prepared before the customer even asks. Even the cleaning lady was like that. There was always a welcome fruit plaque in the room, and today I saw her pushing a cart full of high-quality fruit, including Japanese Fuji apples and peaches. I complimented the peaches on their beauty, and even though we were about to check out, she smiled and immediately picked out the prettiest, softest one from the cart and handed it to me: "This is a Benito peach from central Taiwan; you can eat it right away, no need to wait. Welcome back! Come stay again sometime!" Their interactions with guests were genuine and warm, like welcoming a friend from afar, not a robotic, perfunctory SOP. It reminded me of my recent trip to Kyushu, where I visited the "Big Three" – Kame no Iein and the Sanso Muryota luxury hot spring resort. You sat there listening to their impressive sound systems, and the staff could brew you coffee while knowing which audiophile discs you wanted to test the high and low frequencies. They knew the Panini Violin Concerto for high frequencies and Bach's Cello Suites for low frequencies. They transcend the simple role of "waiters." The steam from the coffee, the classical or jazz music playing from the speakers, and the breathtaking view of Mount Yufu outside the window—all are seamlessly integrated into a dynamic work of art through their skillful manipulation. Rather than waiters, they are more like "curators of the space," understanding confidants who appreciate your lifestyle. This kind of service doesn't offer guests a sense of superiority or vanity, but rather a profound feeling of being understood and healed. What truly makes a lasting impression is not luxury, but that subtle yet precisely touching spiritual resonance. I'm glad that a hotel in Taiwan is taking this path; we should all follow this path.

Upon reaching the room floor, the entire hallway and stairwell were stuffy and hot. It turned out the air conditioning wasn't on, and the temperature was still the same when we opened the door. We turned the air conditioning to its lowest setting and highest fan speed, but an hour later it was still a stuffy 26 degrees Celsius, especially in the bathroom, which was unbearably stuffy. After complaining to the front desk, they said they would send someone to check. Two hours after returning from dinner, I inquired again and found out the person was still on their way… The room remained stuffy. After another complaint, they only sent one person to measure the air conditioning temperature. He didn't dare say there was no problem, only that he would report back! When I complained to the front desk again, the only response was that they would add a fan?? This is really strange. The front desk said it's central air conditioning, so the temperature is fixed! I asked, "Then the wall-mounted temperature and fan speed controls are just for decoration!" I also asked, "If your home's air conditioning is on maximum for an hour and the temperature doesn't change, wouldn't you think there's something wrong with the air conditioning?" By the same logic, my request wasn't unreasonable! My conclusion is that they charge five-star prices, but the service is a completely different story. The hardware is modern, but the software is poor. My assessment is that the service they provide does not justify the price they charge.

The downsides are that, despite being a high-end hotel, it only provided a very weak hairdryer, which was frustrating – and it wasn't even a reputable international brand! There was no entryway, only one power outlet by the bed, a tiny TV, and the sofa was placed out of view. The bathroom drain flooded during showers. The children's play area had limited facilities, several electric vehicles were broken, and there were many rules. There was a novel park outside that the kids found fun. The advantages were a family room, which was spacious with a balcony, but the room felt a bit empty due to the lack of furnishings. The location was very convenient, with a convenience store nearby. The breakfast buffet had a good variety and was tasty. There was a swimming pool and flip-flops were provided. In summary: if you want to see Sun Moon Lake, budget-friendly guesthouses with better lake views are more suitable! But if you're willing to spend this much, I wouldn't recommend this hotel – it falls short in terms of family-friendliness, scenery, and facilities.

I recently stayed at the Lili Sun Moon Lake Zheyuan Hotel with my 8-month-old baby, and I really wanted to share my experience! Overall, our family had a very comfortable stay, and the hotel's thoughtfulness started even before check-in. Around 10 am on the day of check-in, the hotel proactively called to remind us of check-in details and specifically confirmed if we were driving. Since parking is limited nearby, they asked for our license plate number and reserved a parking space for us. This was a huge plus! With a bunch of baby supplies and a baby in tow, having to search for a parking space would be incredibly frustrating 😂. Upon entering the lobby, we were greeted by the soothing scent of cypress wood emanating from the entire wooden building – very comforting and calming. The high ceilings and spacious interior felt luxurious and didn't feel cramped at all, instantly reducing travel fatigue by half. The staff at the front desk were also very friendly and spoke very gently, making us feel very comfortable. We stayed in a lake-view room, which had a king-size bed, perfect for two adults and one child – not cramped at all. The bathroom has a separate wet and dry area, a large bathtub, and a bidet toilet; the overall cleanliness was also very good. The baby amenities were truly thoughtful! I noted I was traveling with a baby when booking, and upon check-in, a crib, bathtub, and sterilizer were already prepared, so I didn't need to ask separately. The crib also came with a pillow and blanket, but if you're staying in the summer, I would suggest bringing a thinner blanket or swaddle blanket for the baby's comfort. Regarding soundproofing: because the entire building is wooden, you can hear some footsteps in the hallway and loud noises from the next room. However, I didn't think it would affect my sleep. At least my two roommates (my daughter and an 8-month-old baby 😂) slept very soundly that night and weren't woken up at all, so I found it acceptable. The room's cleanliness also reassured me. I usually care a lot about the cleanliness of hotel carpets, but this time it was very well-maintained. After settling in, we let the baby crawl around on the floor, and later we noticed their hands and feet were quite clean. (Just a heads-up 🤣 Every family has different parenting styles. We just wanted to relax a bit when we went out, and we washed our baby's hands afterwards. We just made sure the baby didn't suck their thumb too much; we were fine with that.) The hotel also has a swimming pool and steam room, which are great for relaxing if you can take turns looking after the kids. The only downside was the lack of an elevator and ramp. If you're traveling with a stroller, lots of luggage, or elderly family members, going up and down the stairs can be quite difficult. We had to carry the stroller and luggage the whole time. If they added an elevator or ramp in the future, the overall experience would be almost perfect. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay. The service was attentive, the environment was comfortable, the rooms were clean, and it was very family-friendly. We would definitely stay here again if we visit Sun Moon Lake again, and we recommend it to parents looking for family accommodations!

The service staff around 10:00 AM on June 19th were bureaucratic, giving only official answers to every question. This was a stark contrast to the service staff on the afternoon of June 18th, which was hard to understand. I should have given it five stars, but I deducted one because of the service attitude. Kristin, on the other hand, had excellent service; she was truly the best example of service at this hotel. I hope the hotel can commend such staff to ensure guests feel at home. I stayed for almost a week. Although the building is old, you can feel the hotel's dedication. The restaurant gets very crowded on weekends; they need to work on crowd control to avoid defeating the purpose. Aside from these minor issues, the overall standard was above average, and I would choose to stay here again if given the chance.

This time, I stayed in a double room with two single beds. The room was very clean and tidy. The bathroom and toilet were separate, with the sink outside. There was no partition between the bathroom and the room, which made me worry about the room smelling, but the ventilation was very strong and there was no strange smell. Snacks and drinks were provided in the room. I don't know if it was because I registered as a lacto-ovo vegetarian, but the snacks were all vegetarian. The birthday person also received a small cake. The hotel has a coffee shop and an open-air bar with beautiful lake views. This time, I booked a one-night stay with two meals. Dinner was a Jiangzhe cuisine set meal for two, which was very rich and delicious without too many vegetarian ingredients. Breakfast had three set meals to choose from, as well as a self-service salad, bread, drinks, and hot side dishes. The hotel itself does not have a parking lot, so you have to park in the roadside parking spaces, which are the same as the parking spaces for tourists at the nearby Man Mo Temple, which is a bit crowded. Overall, the service and experience made me feel at home.

The lake-view room was truly therapeutic; waking up in the morning and stepping onto the balcony to see Sun Moon Lake was a wonderful way to enjoy a peaceful morning! Dining at the restaurant offered another perspective of the lake view, very comfortable, perfect for sipping red tea and eating bread. The hotel boasts many clever visual designs, with its exterior and mascot echoing the animal-shaped concept of the Wenwu Temple. Be sure to try the special Sun Moon Lake drink; the color blends seamlessly with the lake's blue-green hue, and the textured glass, half-finished, resembles the rocks on the lake's shore during the dry season. Both the Zhejiang cuisine and Western dishes were delicious. A special thank you to the hotel staff who helped me with my pillow problem; it was a sudden and personal matter, but their assistance greatly aided my subsequent travel plans in Nantou.

I chose this hotel based on GPT's recommendation, and I was absolutely not disappointed! 👏 I would definitely stay here again if I have the chance to visit Sun Moon Lake again. It's located right by Shuishe Pier, making it super convenient for taking boats and buses 🚌. There are also bicycle rental shops nearby (where you can get coupons), and the red tea and egg roll shop across the street is a great place to buy souvenirs. The breakfast restaurant is on the first floor; it looks elegant but has everything you need: toast, congee, side dishes, coffee, salad, fruit, etc. My family was very satisfied with the meal. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and I highly recommend choosing a lake-view room—the view is absolutely worth it 🫧🩵. The front desk and housekeeping staff were very friendly and polite. You can leave your luggage before checking in to go shopping, and you can also leave it after checking out. You can then come back to pick up your luggage after visiting Sun Moon Lake and take public transportation—very convenient. ✨ I especially want to praise the housekeeping staff. When we checked out, we happened to see them taking the elevator. They were originally going downstairs to work, but they let us take the elevator first. This kind of small detail really made us feel very thoughtful and polite. Overall, the accommodation experience was excellent.

Because we were taking the kids to Formosan Aboriginal Cultural Village, we stayed at the Yusen Resort, which is very, very close to the village (directly next to the entrance). I personally love log cabins, but Taiwan has a humid island climate, and in my past experience, most log cabins are difficult to maintain. Show people generally don't have good experiences staying in log cabins; they're either old and dilapidated, or severely damp and moldy. So, to be honest, even after reading many reviews, I was still a little apprehensive when checking in 😂 However, all my anxieties vanished the moment we opened the door to the log cabin – we stayed in an American-style villa. The villa had two double rooms and one four-person room, as well as a living room for gatherings with family and friends, a long wooden table, and an electric mahjong table. The double rooms all had bathtubs, and the four-person room's bathroom was very spacious. All toilets were bidet toilets, and each room had heating and air conditioning. The entire space was bright and airy, the floors were spotlessly clean, and even barefoot running around left them immaculate. The living room ceiling had UV lights for disinfection after check-out, which was reassuring. Children could run and play freely on the grassland, and a nutritionally balanced breakfast was provided each morning. All the staff I encountered during the trip were friendly and courteous, making me feel right at home and warmly welcomed. A week has passed since the trip ended, but the wonderful experience at Yousenjing still lingers in my heart. I wanted to leave a special message to thank all the staff and operators of Yousenjing (I was so moved that I even went online to see what kind of operators have such faith and dedication). Thank you for giving us such a wonderful experience and memories. We will share this wonderful experience with our friends and family and look forward to visiting again soon!

The environment is very tranquil, with many large trees and bald cypress trees, as well as a large lawn. There are plenty of balls and bouncy horses to play on, and many children even play on the grass with balls or kites. Room types include various cabins, two-bedroom cabins with a loft living room, and suites. Breakfast is delicious; soy milk and coffee are freshly ground, and noodles and rice noodles are freshly cooked. The tea eggs for Sunday breakfast are especially exceptional—flavorful and sweet. Breakfast is served until 9:30 AM on weekdays, and meals are available until 10:00 AM on weekends.
