While maintaining the traditional hardware structure of Japanese business hotels, it aims to provide the most basic comfort functions and flexible accommodation experience for travelers. With the help of GREENING's design, it integrates local community and cultural experiences with digital technology, and also introduces room types such as private sauna rooms and multi-person family rooms, which have been introduced since the FAV LUX series.

Quick overview: Service features and basic information about the BASE LAYER HOTEL series

Baseline Hotels, a joint venture between fav hospitality group and GREENING, is positioned as a Culture Business Hotel, marking fav's first foray into the business hotel sector. The brand name, Baseline Hotels, is derived from the base layer of clothing used in mountaineering and camping activities, symbolizing the provision of essential comforts for travelers.

The grassroots hotel brands are all based on old-fashioned Japanese business inns, which have been completely renovated and remodeled. On the basis of the original physical buildings, the comfort and functionality of small guest rooms have been improved. By opening up the space of guest rooms, the FAV series' signature private sauna rooms and multi-person family rooms have been introduced. Combined with GREENING's design for community and cultural experience, it provides a fresh accommodation experience with community connection and cultural orientation.

The hotel features an all-day light meal coffee bar, a self-service boutique, and offers options such as private sauna rooms and multi-person family rooms. It is 400 meters away from Watanabe-dori Station on the Fukuoka Subway Nanakuma Line.

BASE LAYER HOTEL NAGOYA NISHIKI
I booked two rooms at a ridiculously low price at Jayan Hotel, but the price was so unreasonable that I wrote in August to inquire if it was correct to avoid any disputes upon check-in. The hotel didn't reply until the end of October, explaining that the price I booked was due to a human error and they offered a 50% discount as an apology. However, the price was too high for me, and with less than two weeks until my check-in, it was difficult to find another hotel within my budget. After I expressed my apologies, the hotel agreed to lower the price again, which I found acceptable, and I finally checked in. Actually, we also run a hotel business in Taiwan, and price errors are inevitable; we've made mistakes too. But in such cases, because it's the business's fault, they usually uphold integrity and offer a discount based on the incorrectly listed price. I simply can't understand how your hotel can operate like this, because the mistake isn't made by the consumer… Moreover, I only booked two rooms and didn't advertise online for everyone to get a bargain. Can't they even afford the loss of two room rates? I find it hard to comprehend. The room had very poor soundproofing; it sounded like there was a sports meet upstairs, and the sound was very clear downstairs. The bathroom was raised, which wasn't very friendly to the elderly. Everything else was good, especially the bedding, which was made of very comfortable material. The breakfast was also delicious.

I checked in February 2026 and found a great deal on their website. The room type was Family Room A, which was quite large, about 40 square meters. For three people staying four nights, it averaged only NT$830 per person per night. There's a pharmacy downstairs, a supermarket across the street open until 6 PM, and a FamilyMart and Lawson nearby, along with plenty of restaurants. The location is convenient, with ample parking, making it suitable for travelers with cars. Check-in can be done in advance via their official email; on-site, you just need to scan a QR code, which is quite convenient. Entering and exiting the room involves scanning a QR code or entering a password. The bathroom has a separate shower and toilet, a large tatami area, and a comfortable bed. I didn't hear any noise for four nights; the soundproofing was excellent. Bottled water was only provided on the first night, and tissues and toilet paper weren't replenished daily, nor were disposable slippers. On days when cleaning wasn't done, you could leave used towels and pajamas on the floor outside the door, but it's best to bring your own plastic bags. The cleaning staff will proactively replenish them with new bags outside the door. The only minor drawback is that cleaning only starts after three nights of stay, and it's not done proactively. You need to inform the front desk on the first floor first; simply hanging a cleaning sign outside the room door is useless.

The room was quite clean and comfortable, and the bathroom had a strong water pressure. The only downside was that the room was too small, which might be inconvenient for travelers with two suitcases. However, the room was also cozy, and the built-in storage cabinets offered plenty of storage space.

The staff were very friendly, and the room was beautiful and satisfactory. The only drawback was that it would be better if the lighting were a bit brighter.
