The founder of Kimpton Hotel and Restaurant Group is Bill Kimpton. The first Kimpton Hotel was founded in San Francisco, California, USA in 1981. In 2005, two sub-brands Palomar and Monaco were launched. In 2015, it was acquired by InterContinental Hotels Group as its brand. Positioned as the highest-level luxury flagship brand.
