If you have the opportunity to visit various parts of Thailand in depth, you will surely discover Thailand’s many unique themed museums. Not only national museums are worth seeing, but even private themed museums set up independently by the people have a wide variety and rich collections. Not letting too much. This shows that Thailand, which has never been colonized by Western powers, is proud of its cultural heritage preservation and multicultural vitality.

After finishing the trip to the River Kwai Bridge in Kanchanaburi, on the way back to Bangkok and passing through Nakhon Pathom, we stopped by to visit the Wood Carving Art Village in Nakhon Pathom Province to appreciate the rich and amazing collection of wood carvings.

Basic introduction and ticket price of Woodcarving Art Village

The Woodcarving Art Village is located in Nakhon Pathom, west of Bangkok, beside the Tha Chin tributary of the Chao Phraya River. There is no convenient public transportation nearby. You can only drive by yourself or go with a group/chartered car.Tickets for visiting the Art Village are divided into Thai locals and foreign tourists. Thais are 300 baht for adults/100 baht for children, and foreign tourists are 650 baht for adults and 300 baht for children.

Art Village’s collection of woodcarving works has been collected by a Thai family over four generations and more than 31 years. The themes of woodcarving are mainly global religions, Thai mythological figures and land/sea creatures. You can only experience the exquisiteness of woodcarving after you have actually seen it.In addition, there are still restaurants and hotels in the park. The hotel has XNUMX rooms and a swimming pool. It used to be the residence of the family in the park, and it is also an elegant wooden building.

Muangmai Wood Carving Exhibition Hall

The woodcarving exhibition hall has an outdoor exhibition area and an indoor exhibition area. The indoor exhibition area is air-conditioned and will be more comfortable to visit, but the second floor will be hotter. The outdoor exhibition area mainly displays mythological characters. The first floor exhibition area mainly displays land/sea animals and mythological characters and mythological stories. The second floor displays religious characters and stories, mainly Buddhism and Catholicism. You must take off your shoes when you go up to the second floor and put them in the hall. Inside the plastic bag provided by the party.

During the visit to the exhibition hall, I not only felt the exquisiteness of the sculptures, but also inexplicably realized that the back of each sculpture was full of religious or mythological stories. At this time, I felt that I read too little in ordinary books, if I could do more beforehand. Looking at the Thai myths and stories, I believe you can better appreciate the spirit of each carving.Next, let's take a look at the exquisite sculptures exhibited in each exhibition area!
