The memory of this day is deep. After a spring haze and heavy rain at night on 4/6, the cherry blossoms in full bloom in Kyoto fell to the ground the next day, and the family came to Gion Shirakawa. The air after the rain was a little bit cold, but the branches were pink. The cherry blossoms and the low weeping green willow still tell us "Spring is coming." There are not many travelers on the stone road, so let us enjoy this moment quietly.

Transportation: How to get to Gion Shirakawa?

Our daily itinerary starts with a philosophical visit, and then transfers to the bus to get here. We make good use of the Kyoto bus one-day ticket to connect to the cherry blossom viewing spots. Considering that it is not suitable for elders to follow us up and down the stairs at the tram station to consume their energy, so taking the bus is Quite convenient way.

If you are starting from Kyoto Station, you can take City Bus No. 206 and get off at "Gion" Station. It takes about 5 to 7 minutes on foot to arrive. If you choose a tram, you can refer to the following information.

  • Keihan Electric Railway: Get off at Gion Shijo Station on the Keihan Main Line and walk for about 5 minutes.

Gion's Shirakawa pink cherry green willow woven of ancient roads and food pavilion delicacy

Walking on the stone road this day on 4/7, on the right side are the petals of falling cherry blossoms under the heavy rain the previous night. The pink color is like a thin pipe. The sky occasionally falls. Lead your eyes to look up, and the branches begin to sprout green leaves. Sakura further illustrates the coming of spring.I think the beautiful scene is that there are several willow trees planted in Shirakawa, swaying in the wind. At this time, a couple is taking pictures, both in formal kimonos and holding paper umbrellas. Under the ancient architecture of Liting, it is even more traditional and beautiful.

Gion Shirakawa is also a place for many tourists dressed as maiko. It is one of the spots to take pictures. There are foreign faces and eastern faces. Wearing that gorgeous kimono and smearing white noodles are the favorites of the on-site tourists. Subject, they are also willing to shoot after polite greetings. After enjoying the scene, we will continue to visit today's cherry blossom viewing spots.
